Fresh off the catwalk, glitter eye looks are a key makeup trend that you won’t want to miss out on. This blog will give you some handy tips and tricks on how to achieve the ultimate glitter eye look, whilst sharing with you some of our favourite looks.

Great for adding depth and definition to your glitter eye look and a perfect opportunity to get creative with different colours to compliment your glitter. We have a few handy tips and tricks on how to get the perfect smoky glitter eye look…

PRIME THE LIDS

This is a key step that will keep your eye makeup intact for much longer. An eye primer will create a base for the eyelids that will help to absorb any excess oil and maintain a even surface to ensure that eye makeup doesn’t go astray. This is especially important for glitter as it can be much more stubborn than a regular powder eye shadow. We suggest using our Matte Veil – a cream-gel formula that absorbs excess oil and provides skin with the perfect matte base for makeup application. Try lightly dabbing the product onto eye lids with finger tips to create the perfect base for your eye shadow.

KEEP IT IN PLACE

Unless you’re using a glitter eye shadow, one of the biggest challenges with glitter is making it stay put, therefore we suggest pressing it firmly into the skin with a brush on top of a cream eyeshadow, or pre-mixing it with a Sealing Gel and either paint it all over the eyelids with a flat eyeshadow brush or use it as a liquid glitter liner with a precise brush.

WING IT

Try adding glitter or glitter eye shadow to your liquid eye liner to create a cat eye with a twist. This is a great way to instantly transform your makeup look.

TOP TIPS

We suggest firmly pressing your glitter on top of a Gel Liner in order to keep it in place. You want to do this whilst the liner is still slightly wet for optimum staying power.

LIQUID GLITTER

If you’re wanting to skip the eye liner and go straight in with the glitter – our Broken Gels are perfect.
